Throughout the series "Death Note," Light Yagami starts off as a highly intelligent and ambitious high school student who is initially driven by a desire to rid the world of criminals using the Death Note. As the series progresses, his personality evolves into that of a power-hungry and manipulative individual who becomes increasingly consumed by his god-like complex and desire for control. He becomes more ruthless, cold, and detached from his initial moral values, ultimately leading to his downfall.
