Fish do not sleep in the same way that humans do. They do not have eyelids, so they do not close their eyes to rest. Instead, fish enter a state of rest where they are less active, but still alert to their surroundings. Some fish may find a secluded spot to rest, while others may continue to swim slowly while resting.
