Environmental history is the study of human interaction with the natural world over time. Environmental historians use a variety of sources, such as written records, scientific data, and archaeological evidence, to understand the complex relationship between humans and nature in the past. By studying environmental history, researchers gain insights into how past societies have shaped, and in turn been shaped by, the environment around them.
