Insects have a respiratory system that is comprised of tiny openings called spiracles along the sides of their bodies. These spiracles connect to a network of tubes called tracheae, which deliver oxygen directly to the insect's cells. Unlike humans, insects do not have lungs. Instead, they rely on this system of air tubes to facilitate gas exchange.
