Yes, honeybees have barbed stingers that become lodged in the skin of the victim when they sting. When the bee tries to fly away after stinging, the stinger is ripped from its body, causing the bee to die shortly afterward. Other types of bees, such as bumblebees, do not have barbed stingers and can sting multiple times without dying.
