You can reset your Apple ID password in a few ways, depending on whether you have access to a trusted device:
If you have a trusted device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac):
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on your name at the top.
- Tap on Password & Security.
- Choose Change Password.
- You'll be prompted to enter your current password or device passcode.
- Then, you can create a new password and confirm it.
If you don't have a trusted device:
- You can visit the Apple ID account website https://appleid.apple.com/account/home.
- Click on Forgot Apple ID or password?
- Enter your Apple ID email address or phone number.
- Select your country or region.
- Choose a method to receive a verification code. This can be through email or text message to a trusted phone number.
- Once you receive the code, enter it on the website.
- You'll be able to create a new password.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
- Make sure to choose a strong password for your Apple ID. It should be at least 8 characters long and include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Apple recommends not using the same password for your Apple ID as you do for other accounts.
- If you're still having trouble resetting your password, you can contact Apple Support for further assistance.
