The Greek dynasty that ruled Iran was the Seleucid dynasty. It was founded by Seleucus I Nicator, one of Alexander the Great's generals, following the division of Alexander's empire after his death. The Seleucids ruled over a vast territory that included Iran, Mesopotamia, Syria, and parts of Anatolia.
