Throughout the series, Takemichi's relationship with Mikey goes through several ups and downs. At the beginning, Takemichi looks up to Mikey as a strong and charismatic leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang. However, as the story progresses, their relationship becomes more complex as Takemichi tries to prevent tragic events from happening in the future.
