Deserts have extreme temperatures because they receive little to no rainfall, leading to low humidity levels. Without cloud cover to block the sun's rays during the day, deserts absorb and retain heat, causing high daytime temperatures. Conversely, at night, the lack of moisture in the air means that heat rapidly escapes, resulting in significant temperature drops and making the temperature difference between day and night quite extreme.
