A leveret is the term used to describe a young hare. Hares belong to the family Leporidae, and leverets are born fully furred with their eyes open, unlike the young of rabbits, which are born hairless and with closed eyes. Leverets are typically independent shortly after birth and are capable of hopping and feeding on their own within a few weeks.
