The largest snake in the world is the green anaconda (Eunectes murinus). Green anacondas are found in the tropical rainforests of South America, primarily in the Amazon Basin. They are known for their massive size and can grow to lengths exceeding 20 feet (6 meters) and weigh over 200 pounds (90 kilograms). Green anacondas are powerful constrictors and are capable of overpowering and suffocating large prey such as capybaras, deer, and even caimans. They spend much of their time in and around water, where they hunt for prey and may also use aquatic habitats to regulate their body temperature.
