Mountains form through a variety of geological processes. One common way is through tectonic activity, where the Earth's tectonic plates collide, causing the land to buckle and fold, creating mountain ranges. Another process is volcanic activity, where magma erupts onto the surface, forming volcanic mountains. Additionally, erosion can also contribute to the formation of mountains over long periods of time by wearing down softer rock layers and leaving behind harder, more resistant rocks, creating peaks and ridges.
