Light Yagami, the main character in the anime "Death Note," initially believes that his actions are justified in his quest to create a better world by eliminating criminals. He justifies his actions by believing that he is ridding the world of evil and making it a safer place. Over time, however, he becomes consumed by power and the pursuit of his own version of justice, leading him to act in more morally questionable ways. Ultimately, Light's moral and ethical compass becomes increasingly skewed as he becomes more entrenched in his quest for control and righteousness, blurring the lines between right and wrong.
