Light Yagami, from the anime series Death Note, rationalizes his actions by believing that he is serving justice and creating a better world by eliminating criminals through the use of the Death Note. He sees himself as a savior who is purging the world of evil and creating a society free from crime and corruption. Despite the questionable morality of his actions, Light convinces himself that sacrificing a few lives for the greater good of society is justified.
