Light Yagami sees himself as superior to the Shinigami realm, viewing himself as more powerful and intelligent than the Shinigami due to his ability to outsmart them and use the Death Note for his own purposes. He sees them as tools to be used in his quest for justice and control, rather than as beings to be revered or feared.
