Light Yagami begins his mission to eliminate criminals using the Death Note after discovering the Death Note, a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose name he writes in it. Initially, he tests its powers on petty criminals and eventually decides to use it to rid the world of individuals he deems as evil or corrupt. This marks the beginning of his journey as the vigilante known as "Kira."
