Light Yagami's pursuit of justice, or rather his pursuit of becoming the self-proclaimed god of the new world through the use of the Death Note, greatly affects his personal relationships. As he becomes consumed by his desire for power and control, Light distances himself from his family and friends, manipulating and betraying those closest to him in order to further his own agenda. His obsession with achieving his version of justice leads him to isolate himself emotionally from others, ultimately resulting in the deterioration of his personal relationships and his descent into darkness.
