Light Yagami, the main character in the anime "Death Note," starts off with a strong sense of justice, believing he is doing the right thing by using the Death Note to eliminate criminals. However, as he continues to use the Death Note and becomes more power-hungry, his actions gradually erode his sense of morality. With each life he takes and the lengths he goes to in order to avoid capture, Light becomes more detached from his initial ideals of justice and righteousness. Ultimately, his descent into darkness leads him to justify any action in pursuit of his goal, regardless of its morality.
