At the end of the series "Death Note," Light Yagami meets his demise. He is outwitted by Near and loses the battle of wits, ultimately leading to his downfall. Light dies by gunshot after being cornered by Near and exposed as Kira, the infamous serial killer he had been posing as with the Death Note.
