Reddick died from heart disease on March 17, 2023, aged 60, at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles. Tributes were paid by colleagues and friends, including Reddick's The Wire co-stars Wendell Pierce and Isiah Whitlock Jr., as well as series creator David Simon
