Tarantulas are ambush predators, meaning they do not actively chase their prey. Instead, they wait patiently in their burrows or hidden locations for prey to come close enough. When an unsuspecting insect or small animal comes within range, the tarantula will quickly pounce on it, using its speed and venom to subdue its prey.
