Fish do not sleep in the same way that humans do. Instead of closing their eyes and entering a deep sleep, many fish enter a state of rest where they slow down their movements and metabolism. Some fish may even find a safe spot to rest in, like a crevice or a hiding place, while others may continue swimming slowly to maintain their position in the water. Additionally, some species of fish have evolved the ability to rest one hemisphere of their brain at a time, allowing them to remain partially alert while still getting the rest they need.
