Vultures differ from other birds of prey in hunting and feeding behaviors mainly due to their scavenging nature. Unlike other birds of prey that actively hunt and kill their prey, vultures primarily feed on carrion, which are the carcasses of dead animals. They have a keen sense of smell that helps them locate carcasses from high altitudes. Vultures also have specialized adaptations such as strong beaks and digestive systems that allow them to consume decaying flesh without getting sick. In contrast, other birds of prey like eagles and falcons hunt live prey by using their sharp talons and beaks to catch and kill animals.
