Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) refers to digital currencies issued by a central bank and typically regulated by the government. On the other hand, a digital dollar is a term used to describe the digital form of the US dollar, which can exist in various forms including CBDCs issued by the Federal Reserve or digital versions issued by private entities. In essence, all CBDCs are digital currencies, but not all digital dollars are CBDCs.
