Dalmatian puppies are born completely white, without spots. Their characteristic spots begin to appear a few weeks after birth, usually at the age of 1 to 2 weeks. At the beginning, the spots may be faintly noticeable, but as the puppies grow, they become more and more spotted. It may take several months for the final formation of the color and the distribution of spots.
