Dogs have developed all three senses: taste, sense of smell and sight, but their olfactory abilities are usually considered the most developed. Dogs' sense of smell is their main and most sensitive organ of perception. They have a huge number of olfactory receptors in their nasal cavities and the area of the brain responsible for processing odor information. Thanks to this, they are able to detect odors and recognize them with incredible accuracy, even in the slightest concentrations. The sense of smell plays a key role in many areas of their lives, such as finding food, detecting and following odors, and determining the state of the environment.
