Light Yagami views himself as a savior and a god-like figure in relation to the cosmic and moral order depicted in Death Note. He believes that he is the one who can bring about justice and eliminate those he deems unworthy, acting as the judge, jury, and executioner. His inflated sense of self-importance leads him to believe that he is above the law and can decide who deserves to live and who deserves to die. This ultimately leads to his downfall as he becomes consumed by power and loses touch with his own morality.
