African elephants are typically larger than Asian elephants. Their ears are also larger and shaped like the continent of Africa, while Asian elephants have smaller, rounder ears. African elephants have two "fingers" on the end of their trunks for grasping objects, whereas Asian elephants have only one. Additionally, African elephants have a more sloping back compared to the relatively flat back of Asian elephants.
