Club Cerro Porteño is one of the most successful and popular football clubs in Paraguay. They are based in Asunción, the capital city, and were founded on October 1, 1912. The club's colors are red and white, hence the nickname "The Red and Whites." Cerro Porteño has a fierce rivalry with Club Olimpia, another prominent Paraguayan football club, and matches between the two are known as the "Clásico del Fútbol Paraguayo" (Paraguayan Football Classic).
